Covid-19 guidelines for public worship

The Parochial Church Council recommends these measures to emphasise the personal and corporate responsibilities of all individuals to protect others and ourselves.

These are recommendations only and they are not mandated by Government legislation.

Mask wearing

It is recommended that, unless exempt, a suitable facemask is worn, when entering, leaving and moving around our church building. A facemask is not required when seated.

Officiants do not need to wear a facemask unless coming into close contact with others and when distributing the bread to the communicants.

Hand sanitation

It is recommended that hand sanitiser is used when entering and leaving our church.

Registration (Track and Trace)

It is recommended that all visitors sign the Track and Trace register or scan the QR code.

Receiving Communion

In order to allow the celebration of Holy Communion safely, communicants will continue to receive the bread. Only the officiating priest will receive the wine.

Please wear a face mask when going forward to receive the bread and follow the directions given by the stewards, using the one-way system.

Congregational singing

Singing is permitted but it is recommended that facemasks are worn.

Seating

Social distancing is no longer required but if anyone would feel more comfortable if the adjacent space is left free, a card is available to place there to indicate this.
